My track events are ~80 minutes per day.
I change engine oil every 2 events, sometimes 3 if its cold weather, always do oil analysis and the oil is always fine. I bet I could stretch this but no reason to.
I use Redline MTL in my MT82 and I've noticed it will get harder to shift after 3-4...
I don't have experience with DTC30s but I've read of quite a few people using them on GTs as rear pads with DTC60s up front.400F pad temp seems low, how well are your current pads working?
It says they are 11.75" in diameter, this is smaller than stock I believe? Sounds drag oriented and I would expect them to be worse than your stock brakes for non-drag use.The pad selection for your brakes isn't as broad as the GT PP kit, but you still have access to some GLOC and Hawk...
If they were mine I would scrape the loose paint off where the pistons touch and put them back in. If they are developing any taper I'd install them with the thicker side on the bottom.
I don’t see the value in an Aluminator unless your stock block and crank are trashed. If you have a machine shop you’re comfortable working with you can achieve something at least the same, probably better for less money.I rebuilt my engine because of detonation damage from 91 octane...
I’m using that Moroso pan and it works well. But if the 500 pan kit existed when I built my motor I would have seriously considered it. I don’t know much about it but the high volume oil pump sounds like a good investment.I used my existing gen 2 block but I had to block off the oil jets to...
That happened after one track day? Then I'd say your pad compound is not aggressive enough and you're getting them too hot. The leading edge side of the pad gets much hotter than the trailing side. You'll probably notice the paint or metal is discolored on that end too.My car with PP Brembos...
The Harrop kit mounts really well and works well enough for me (after upgrading the fittings and lines to -12, this makes a huge difference), it’s not quite adequate to push for 20 minutes straight in the AZ heat but a cool down lap thrown in is all it takes to get it back under control.
The aluminum valve covers 100% solved this for me. I don’t run a catch can the driver side anymore. I run with 200tw tires so no experience beyond that level of grip.
I use Schroth Profi 3x2 six points with Sparco Circuit and EVO seats in my car. They come with enough slack to accommodate anybody. I'm happy with them.
If block is salvageable, I vote getting that cleaned up and rebuilt as a Voodoo or CPC 5.2. Can't tell what kind of damage the head has or if having the valve seats/guides repaired is cost effective on these.I rebuilt my 5.0 in my garage in 2020. Had Duffee Motorsports clean up the block and...
E85 will help cooling with port injection, albeit minimally. Direct injection engines benefit more.I think even with E85 and the best intake possible you're still going to have this issue. Ambient temps increase throughout the day. The GT350 intake is pretty good as is.
