Which Strut Locks?

Hello,

I would like to slot my FRPP strut hole to gain more camber. I am not ready to drop money on Vorshlag plates just yet. I know some people slot the strut hole and use the friction of the bolt to hold it in place. After a slip in alignment which damaged my wheel, I would like to eliminate any possibility of that happening. I purchased Professionally Awesome camber locks and went with option A. Do you think that is the correct one for stock struts? I know Im asking even after I ordered, but would just like some feedback. Thank you!

Spending money on a poor solution usually leads to spending more money on the correct solution. I would repair the holes made to the tower and put proper camber plates in. Vorshlag are expensive, because they are the best. There are other plates which work well and cost less. I have run MM plates without issues. Just my 2 cents. YMMV.

Sorry I don’t understand.
I currently have MM plates which I have maxed out due to the Steeda RCC kit. And I would essentially be doing the same thing to how some coilovers are. Cortex coilovers are slotted and they offer camber lugs for their coilovers.

Am I missing something ?

Same here. I use a local shop for alignments......mostly for their equipment. I set the angles and ensure everything is tight. First time I brought them my boss I handed the instructions from the MM plates to the shop owner. The tech asked me where I wanted the holes drilled. Yea....... So I did the alignment on their rig.
I guess I read your post a bit upside down. The slot is at the bottom. Sorry.
I get 2.5 neg camber with the MM plates and opened tower opening and coil overs. More to be had.
Will the locks you have coming work? It will depend upon the holes made and the space they need to fill. As well as the person doing the work. They should fit them while adjusting camber, then possibly tack them in place.
Good luck with the fix. Coil overs are the best solution. I saved for few year before I pulled the trigger on the JRIs is run now.

Yea, I definitely learned my lesson. I opened up the tower holes so that is good to go. I am not at coilover driving level yet or budget lol so I'm trying to get as much camber as I can for the least amount of money (within reason). I guess I was just wondering if it was a lost cause for me to even try.

Didn't think of tacking it. Great idea. If it fits I will go that route. Thank you.
 
The local Plaza tire here told me they couldn't do the alignment when I put C/C plates on because it was extra work to go through. Luckily, there is a retired alignment shop owner the town over. Does alignments for spare money when he wants some extra cash. He installed my LCAs and relocation brackets for me a couple months ago.
